Meet the Family
The family behind the foundation.
Every seat on our Board of Directors and committees is held by a family member, each giving their time and professional expertise to carry our mission forward.

Family is a blessing. As one who married into this family, I have witnessed and received their love and support. It was therefore with excitement that I accepted the invitation to be a part of this collective that is devoted to bonding family together through mutual care, patience and forgiveness while additionally uplifting community.

Continuing my family’s legacy of educators is deeply personal to me and a source of pride. Working in the field of education for 42 years, from Preschool to college education allowed me to make a difference in the lives of youth. Serving on the A Family Affair Foundation, Inc. scholarship committee continues to provide an opportunity to invest in our youth’s hopes, dreams and future of becoming our tomorrow’s leaders, while letting them know they are not in it alone. As Maya Angelou said, “When you learn you teach. When you get, you give.”

Aisha Wallace
Committee Member
Family and education are two of the most important pillars of my life. I believe family extends beyond blood ties to include the friends, mentors, teachers, and community members who shape our journeys and legacies. I align deeply with AFAF’s mission to empower individuals through higher education, recognizing that scholarships do more than support students—they invest in the future of families and communities. To me, that is the true meaning of family: supporting one another, creating opportunities, and building lasting legacies.

I believe in the power of family, the importance of the next generation, and the strength we find in one another. Family is a place where we can celebrate our wins together, encourage each other through difficult times, and remind one another that we are never alone. My mission is to support, uplift, and help build a strong foundation for the generations to come.

Education has always been part of my family’s legacy, and it’s reflected in my own work in Special Education. AFAF’s mission aligns with my belief that when we support and inspire our youth, we strengthen our future. As Tupac reminded us, sometimes our role is simply to spark the mind that will change the world, and I’m committed to doing just that for the next generation!
